Coco is celebrating 20 years of being Miss Coco Peru. In her funny, smart, and unique way, Coco reflects on 20 years of life from her early performances to the ways life has changed in general. With humor, song (a mixture of original compositions and covers), and personality, Coco brilliantly touched upon the days before cell phones, the way celebrity life has changed with the creation of reality shows, the influence of Bea Arthur, and how to overcome bullying.
One of the things that made me really enjoy "Miss Coco Peru: There Comes A Time" was Coco's comedic timing. She knows her audience well and knows how to get the laugh...even if she is the brunt of the joke. As a singer, Coco made wise choices with her selection. She covered songs by The Carpenters and sang original compositions from Tony Award Winning composer/lyricists Jeff Marx ("Avenue Q") and Jonathan Larson ("Rent").
Coco's enthusiasm for performing shined the whole time. Coco loves with she does and I'm thrilled I got see her. This was the perfect show for a first-timer like me to see because I felt as though I really got to experience Coco's journey from her humble beginnings to her multiple shining moments!
