It's Showtime with Call Me Adam June 18 Guests: Creatives behind Stage 17 Ondine Landa Ambramson, Jacob Pinion, and Jon-Erik Goldberg

...

We had a great show tonight! I learned so much from Ondine, Jacob, and Jon-Erik about the creation of Stage 17. They have a platform that speaks to everyone. While many of the shows and creators behind them are rooted in theatre, all of their shows have a universal theme that speaks to everyone.

Some of their series include Middle Stage, about one woman's journey of finding her way in a youth-obsessed world. Dress Up with George B!, where George Brescia dresses some the entertainment industries biggest names (Dianne Wiest, Marin Mazzie, Victoria Clark, and Kate Baldwin) for opening nights and special events. Ian about a boy trying to get their girl of his dreams. Fan Fare, hosted by Sirius/XM's Julie James, where she reuintes some of Broadway's legendary cast and creatives to get the behind-the-scenes scoop on what it was like being on Broadway. Jack In The Box, created by Michael Cyril Creighton, about one man's hilarious happenings of working in a box office. Michael was at the forefront of web series when not many people were doing them, so it's great that now Stage 17 has picked up his show! There's also Pzazz 101, created by the talented and hilarious Wade Dooley, who portrays the ficticious Mary Shennanbargger, a former dancer who now coaches some of Broadway's biggest stars when they have auditions. With hundreds of hours of programming, there was only so many I could list.

Ondine, Jacob, and Jon-Erik went into some great detail not only about these shows, but so many others on their new platform including their red-carpet Tony Award coverage! So be sure to click the link above and take a listen at your leisure!

Get ready for another great broadcast of It's Showtime with Call Me Adam this Wednesday, June 18 from 7pm-8pm on YTP RadioScheduled guest includes the creatives behind Stage 17: Ondine Landa Abramson (President & Executive Producer), Jacob Pinion (Stage 17 Strategist), and Jon-Erik Goldberg (Stage 17 Strategist).

With its roots grounded in Broadway theatre community, Stage17 is new digital platform offering captivating original, executive-produced and curated entertainment for the world’s largest stage – the Internet.

The phone lines will be open from 7pm-8pm, so give us a call at 646-478-0328.

It's Showtime with Call Me Adam June 4 Guests: Jeremy Scott Blaustein and Sam Given

...

The first half-hour of the show, I got to speak with Jeremy Scott Blaustein, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominated Producer and now Author of The Home For Wayward Ladies, the #1 gay fiction paperback new release best seller on Amazon.com. Jeremy and I had a lots to talk about! We started off with his producing and seamlessly eased into his writing. One of the things I found most inspiring about Jeremy's interview was the he had always wanted to be writer and while he took a detour into Broadway producing, he never let go of that dream, and then finally he took the leap to pursue his dream full time and it has really started to pay off for him.

In the second half-hour I got to speak with actor Sam Given, who's currently starring in the Off-Broadway musical The Zombies: A Musical and performing around NYC as his alter ego "Millie Grams." My favorite part of Sam's interview was really getting inside of Sam's life to find out just how awesome and supportive his mom is of him. She is a true example of unconditional love and support! I hope any parent out there who is struggling with finding out about their child's sexuality, can learn something from Sam's mom. On the lighter side of things, it was fun to find out that while Sam is super comfortable applying drag make-up he has a hard time with the Zombie make-up when getting ready for The Zombies: A Musical, playing at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre in NYC from June 12-July 13.

There was a technical glitch during "Back To Black" by Glee. The song stopped playing midway through from 47:06-47:30. Then everything resumes as normal.

Get ready for another great broadcast of It's Showtime with Call Me Adam this Wednesday, June 4 from 7pm-8pm on YTP RadioScheduled guest includes Producer/Author Jeremy Scott Blaustein and Actor Sam Given.

From 7pm-7:30pm (Producer/Author Jeremy Scott Blaustein)

Call Me Adam gets to chat with Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominated Producer and now Author Jeremy Scott Blaustein. Jeremy has worked on Broadway's August: Osage County, Bonnie & Clyde, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, All About Me, Race, HAIR, and many others. He has now published his debut novel The Home For Wayward LadiesFresh out of Mackinaw Conservatory's School of Theater, Eli, Hunter, and Nick have relocated to Manhattan's Upper-Upper West Side bound by an oath that friendship shall conquer all. Amid bitchy brunches and failed one-night stands, these friends- as promising as they are promiscuous are on a quest to have their voices heard over the roar of city. When they get a chance to work in summer stock, this "family" is forced to find out the hard way what it takes to become the ultimate anything: a somebody. Day jobs pay bills and hand jobs stroke the ego, but handling betrayal with grace is the best way to prove who is a true Lady. From 7:30pm-8pm (Actor Sam Given)

Call Me Adam chats with actor Sam Given about starring in the new Off-Broadway show The Zombies: A Musical playing from June 12-July 13 at Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). A world premiere comedy set in a small town in middle-America, where the cast of characters face issues like racism, gun control, religion and conspiracy theories. The romantic triangle between handsome Junior, suicidal goth waitress Chloe and rich stoner kid Basil is complicated…the secret carried by Little Pete is tearing him apart…will he tell his father? Celebrating Zombie lore and the original genre films made by George Romero, the tuneful score includes songs like "Zombies Shuffle," "Puppies and Kittens," and "I Will Be Next." Click here for tickets!

We are also going to talk about Sam's alter ego "Millie Grams" who will be performing at Drag Queens of Broadway Beauty Pagent on June 9 at Abrons Art Center in NYC!

It's Showtime with Call Me Adam May 21 Guests: Daphne Rubin-Vega, David Caudle, and Christopher Tierney

...

We had another great show tonight! I had a lot of fun with Daphne, David, and Christopher!

From Daphne's segment, I learned how about the way in which she went about preparing for her role of "Sheila" in her new film Fall to Rise, how she would defend her son if someone spoke to him like "Sheila" spoke to the children in Fall to Rise, and just how much pride she has for her herritage and what excites her about being in the all Spanish production of Eve Ensle'rs The Vagina Monologues from June 3-22 at The Westside Theatre in NYC. Click here for tickets to The Vagina Monologues and click here for more on Fall to Rise!

I really enjoyed talking to David and Christopher about Downward Facing Debbie, a new play written by David, in which Christopher stars in. It was very inspiring and interesting to listen to their stories about their own spiritual journey and how they brought what they have each learned to this play. Downward Facing Debbie runs through June 7 at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity in NYC's East Village. Click here for tickets!
