2011 Tony Award Commentary

So far it's been a really exciting Tony Award ceremony!

Neil Patrick Harris did an excellent job with the opening song. Very fun and engaging! I love live television!

Ellen Barkin won "Best Featured Actress" in a play for "The Normal Heart," which she so deserves for her portrayal of "Dr. Emma Brookner." Such a powerful performance!

Yay John Benjamin Hickey! You so deserve this award! I have been a longtime fan of his (especially when he was on ABC's "It's All Relative") and am so excited he won. His performance in "The Normal Heart" as "Felix Turner" is inspiring and heart-wrenching!

"Catch Me If You Can" just gave a really fun performance! Norbert Leo Butz is an amazing performer! I hope to get to see this show soon.

I really enjoyed "The Scottsboro Boys" performance! Maybe if they win "Best Musical," the show could come back...that would be great! This show deserved a much longer run than it had!

While I haven't seen "Book of Mormon" yet, I am very excited for Nikki M. James as I very much enjoyed her in "All Shook Up" and hope to one day have the opportunity to interview her for "Adaumbelle's Quest!"

Hugh Jackman and Neil Patrick Harris' number was a freakin' riot! They were great together! I think there is a single to be released!

Bravo to Bono and the edge for being able to laugh at themselves! It must be tough for them...

Congratulations to Tim Chappel & Lizzy Gardiner on winning "Best Costume in a Musical" for "Priscilla Queen of the Desert!" SO DESRVE THIS WIN!!!

Sing out "Sister Act!" Loved seeing you show America how much fun your show really is!

I love Patrick Wilson! I hope he comes back to Broadway soon...

"The Normal Heart" SO DESERVES the Tony Award for "Best Revival of a Play!" It's riveting, powerful, and extremely moving! GO SEE IT!!!

Martha Wash sounded and looked incredible with the cast of "Priscilla Queen of the Desert!" Such a brilliant idea to have one of the original Weather Girls join in on the festivities!

GREAT JOB "Anything Goes!" and to my friends Ward Billeisen and Ray Lee for an amazing performance!! Go see them along with Sutton Foster, Joel Grey, and John McMartin in this wonderfully energetic show!

Congratulations to Sutton Foster on winning "Best Actress in a Musical" for "Anything Goes" and to the show for winning "Best Revival of a Musical!" Both deserve it so!

I'm just sayin'...my amazingly wonderfully talented friend and fellow "Adaumbelle's Quest" participant, Billy Mitchell made the artwork for the film "Company"

CONGRATULATIONS to all the Tony Winners! To all of my fans out there, THANK YOU for taking the time to spend part of this evening with me as I posted my coverage! There is nothing quite like live theatre, so come to New York and see a show! There's something for everyone here!
