2014 Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk

Team RothenbergIt's that time of year again when "Team Rothenberg" will be participating in the "Making Strides" Breast Cancer walk on Long Island on Sunday, October 19!

I walk with many people on my mind...first and foremost my mother, who continues to be cancer free after being diagnosed in 2003. I also walk for my Aunt Rose who's a breast cancer survivor, Bobby Flynn, a wonderful woman I worked with from 1999-2001 in Boston, who unfortunately lost her battle with breast cancer, so I continue to walk for her. I also walk for my friend Carissa Maringo who lost her fight to cancer in 2009 at the young age of 32. Finally, I walk for all those people out there who have been affected by Breast Cancer and for those who can't walk!

If you are able to make a contribution, your support would mean a lot, whether it's $1, $5, $10, $50, $100, or more! Thank you for your time! Click here to donate!

Call Me Adam on Entertainment Tonight to discuss Joan Rivers

I was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight to discuss Joan Rivers! My segment airs tonight (Friday, August 29 at 7:30pm on CBS! Tune in!!

If you missed my interview with Entertainment Tonight, you can watch it below.

I feel so lucky to have been able to see Joan perform at The Laurie Beechman Theatre this past Wednesday night. She was on fire, making the sold-out crowd laugh for a full hour. From her classic jokes to new ones, Joan hit the mark everytime!

I continue to send positive thoughts her way for a speedy recovery. I can't wait to hear her make us laugh again! She is the first person, that despite the sadness of what is happening, she would want us to find a way to continue to laugh. My way of doing this is by remembering her fantastic performance on Wednesday night, watching her comedy special on DVD Don't Start With Me as well as her documentary A Piece of Work, the TV movie Starting Again: The Joan and Melissa Rivers Story, and listening to her comedy CD What Becomes A Semi-Legend Most?

Joan has "Bounced Back" from many moments of adversity and this moment is no execption! So, I continue to pray that she will be back on stage, making us laugh, very soon!

FocazioI was so honored and excited to attend The New York Pops 31st Birthday Gala celebrating the music of Marc Shaiman and Scott Whittman! It was an unfortgettable evening listening to every genre of their incredible music from Broadway to Film to Television. Backed by the incomparable New York Pops, it was a who's who of talent up on the stage at Carnegie Hall featuring The New York Pops' Conductor/Music Director Steven Reineke, Patti LuPone, Martin Short, Matthew Morrison, Aaron Tveit, Megan Hilty, Katharine McPhee, Andrea Martin, Jennifer Lewis, Jane Krakowski, Will Chase, Ricki Lake, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Nikki Blonsky, and many more!

FocazioIt was great to hear so many of Marc and Scott's songs I love while being introduced to a few songs I didn't know. I loved the whole evening, which makes it very difficult to choose just a few moments to highlight, but some of my favorite moments of the night were: Martin Short re-enact some of his characters from SCTV while singing with Christian Borle "The Mamushka" from The Addams Family, watching Jennifer Lewis bring the house down with "I Know Where I've Been" from Hairspray, Aaron Tveit singing "Goodbye" from Catch Me If You Can, the three original "Tracy Trunblad's" from Hairspray: Ricki Lake, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Nikki Blonsky singing "Good Morning Baltimore," and seeing members of the original Broadway cast of Hairspray, such as Matthew Morrison, Laura Bell Bundy, and Kerry Butler, reunite for "You Can't Stop The Beat." That moment brought back so many wonderful memories and it was great to see them all together again having fun!

I was so fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet some of these amazing talents. Check out the pictures below as well as Jennifer Lewis' roof-raising, show-stopping "I Know Where I've Been" from Hairspray!
